The position of the City Clerk is appointed by and reports to the City Manager, as provided for in the City Charter. 


 The Clerk's Office is  responsible for giving notice of public meetings and maintaining an accurate record of all proceedings. The City Clerk also serves as the municipal Supervisor of Elections, administers the publication of the City Code and Charter, and maintains custody of the City's vital records including agreements, contracts, minutes, ordinances, proclamations, and resolutions.

The City Clerk provides secretariat services for the City Council and the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Board. The City Clerk is entrusted with numerous and diverse duties under both state law and local ordinances.



It is the mission of the City Clerk's Office to serve the public on a daily basis with efficiency, courtesy and a willingness to assist the citizens and employees of the City of Hallandale Beach while preserving, maintaining and providing access to vital public records; and to ensure the City's legislative processes are open and public by providing a link between citizens and government through the dissemination of information.

City Commission Meeting Broadcast Schedule

The City of Hallandale Beach broadcasts it regularly scheduled City Commission Meetings and Planning & Zoning Meetings on Comcast Channel 78 on the following days and times:

Regular City Commission
1st Wednesday of the Month at 6:30 P.M.
3rd Wednesday of the Month at 6:30 P.M.

Mondays at 6:00 P.M.
Thursday at 6:00 P.M.
Fridays at 12:00 P.M.
Saturdays at 12:00 P.M.
Sundays at 12:00 P.M.

City Commission/City Manager Workshop
City Commission/City Manager Workshops are generally held and broadcast live on the Monday preceding the 2nd Regular City Commission meetings of the month at 6:05 P.M. or immediatley following the preceding the HBCRA Board of Directors Meeting. 

Planning & Zoning
3rd Wednesday at 1:30 P.M.

Monday at 1:30 P.M.
Thursday at 1:30 P. M.
Saturday at 8:00 P.M.
Sunday at 8:00 P.M.

Public Records Requests

Requests for Public Records of the City are submitted to the City Clerk's Office.

To make a request, do one of the following:

Please include a detailed description of what you are asking for.

Name, Address, and contact information are optional.

When the request has been fulfilled, you will be contacted. Depending upon the number of pages accrued, you may incur an expense:

-Two or more pages is .15 cents per page,
-Double sided is .20 cents per page, color copies single sided are .50 cents per page,
-Certified copy of records $1.00.

If the nature or volume of a public records request to be inspected or copied requires extensive staff time (15 minutes or more), in addition to the actual cost of duplication, charges will include the person performing the work at their hourly rate, plus 30%.

Lien Searches

The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for filing a City Liens and Releases of Liens. Please click here to conduct an online lien search or contact the City Clerk’s office at (954) 457-1340.



Release of Liens

When a lien is paid off, a release is provided to the payee to be recorded with the Broward County Records Division.

If it is determined a lien was once released but the release was never recorded and another release is required, the fee is $100.00.  Once the release is completed, it will be given to the payee/requestor to be recorded with the Broward County Records Division.
