Vacation Rentals can only operate if they meet the current requirements as stated in Emergency Order 20-26.
In accordance, to Ordinance 2018-003 All Owners of Vacation Rentals are required to obtain an operating license annually. This law applies to all properties (including rooms and guest houses) rented for less than 30 consecutive days.A list of applicants that have registered and/or that have been issued a Vacation Rental License can be viewed in our list of all Currently Registered Vacation Rentals .To report any suspected illegal operation of vacation rentals visit our MyHB App, to view a list of cited properties.
- Florida Statutes on Short Term Rentals and Preemption: Section 509.032(7).
- Florida Statutes on rental of Homestead Properties: Section 196.061
- Effective, January 1, 2021 Department of Business and Professional Regulation release a statement that, all public lodging establishments regulated by the Division of Hotels and Restaurants must comply with the requirements of Section 509.096.

1. Registration Process
Applications: Fill out the Vacation Rental Application form, Business Tax License (BTR) Application and, utilize the Vacation Rental Requirement Checklist to ensure all documents have been obtained. Please be advise that any incomplete application can result to pending status and loss of processing fee.Fees:

Operating a vacation rental without a Buisiness Tax License and Vacation Rental License is a violation of Chapter 9 in the City of Hallandale Beach Code of Ordinance. Any Vacation Rental found not in compliance the following penalty schedule will be enforced:Penalty | |
