Hurricane Elsa was downgraded to a Tropical Storm on Saturday afternoon and is not expected to regain Hurricane strength.  The storm’s forecast cone has moved westward.  South Florida is now outside the cone.  Potentially heavy rains with some higher wind gusts are expected Monday evening through Tuesday.

The City of Hallandale Beach will continue to monitor the storm.

All City Park facilities including our beaches will remain open until further notice. 

Garbage/Sanitation pickup will continue on the regular schedule until further notice.  

Bulk pick up scheduled for Monday, July 5th in the Southwest has been postponed until further notice.

All bulk trash items should now be removed from swales throughout the City.  Residents are reminded to keep areas clean to minimize clogged drains and projectiles during the storm.

Mini-Bus Shuttle service will remain in normal operation until further notice.  However, conditions are being monitored and the buses will stop running when conditions are no longer safe.

There is no sand bag distribution scheduled.  Residents are reminded it is illegal to remove sand from the beach.  Please plan ahead and visit your local home improvement store for bags and sand or a suitable alternative.

Normal City Operations are anticipated to resume on Tuesday, July 6th.   We are closed Monday, July 5th in observation of the Independence Day Holiday.
