Tropical Storm Alex 2022
06/04/22 3:00pm: The National Weather Service has cancelled the Tropical Storm Warning for South Florida. A Flood Watch remains in effect until 8pm this evening. The City is still experiencing Flooding in the NE Quadrant of the City where many streets remain closed. Please stay safe and away from this area.
All City Parks will remain closed through Saturday - many will continue to remain closed until further notice due to flooding including Peter Bluesten Park, Ingalls Park, Joseph Scavo Park, Golden Isles Park including the Basketball & Bocce Courts, South City Beach Park.
06/22/22 8:00am: Our City has been severely impacted by Tropical Storm Alex. While the water is currently receding, many streets remain flooded. All of our pumps are working but we have seen an extreme amount of rain and are expecting a lot more rain throughout the day. Please stay off the roads for your safety and to allow City crews to work.

We are expecting another three to Four inches of rain Saturday according to the National Weather Service. Tropical Storm Force winds of 35-45 mph with gust to 55 mph are expected throughout Saturday. A Flood Watch remains in effect throughout Saturday

All City Park facilities are closed. The beaches will remain open until further notice.
Boaters are reminded to prepare for localized storm surge of 1-3 feet especially on Saturday.
Garbage/Sanitation/ Bulk Trash pickup will continue on the regular schedule until further notice. The Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off event scheduled for Saturday, June 4th has been postponed until June 11th.
Mini-Bus Shuttle service will remain in normal operation until further notice. However, conditions are being monitored and the buses will stop running when conditions are no longer safe.
There is no sand bag distribution scheduled. Residents are reminded it is illegal to remove sand from the beach. Please plan ahead and visit your local home improvement store for bags and sand or a suitable alternative.
