National Day of Service: Bioswale Planting

Wednesday, September 11, 2019

The City will commemorate September 11th with a National Day of Service. Formal September 11th Memorial will take place from 8:30 am to 9:20 am. For the bioswale planting: To attend, you must first email ajoneswood@cohb.org to register. If registration is full, you will be placed on a wait list. Volunteers will plant nearly 100 plants and trees, which together will form the City's first bioswale. A bioswale is a type of swale (like our grassed drainage swales) which uses plants (trees, shrubs) to filter pollutants from stormwater before recharging our groundwater resources. This event is made possible by a TD Green Space Grant through the Arbor Day Foundation.
